About the Wild Remnant
The Wild Remnant is a Journey
In The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Mr. Beaver, talking about Aslan, says, “Safe? Of course he isn’t safe! But he’s good.” God is calling us to things we can’t even dream of because we are so far from a real relationship to Him, the one who created us.
What we need now is to get out of our safe, comfortable bubble and wake up! We have been lulled to sleep by the repetition of our schedules, the focus on the other and the doom scrolling. We are consumers, not producers. In the book Nineteen Eighty-Four, George Orwell explains that with the “two-minutes’ hate,” even if you didn’t want to participate, you were soon engulfed in “a hideous ecstasy of fear and vindictiveness”. Think of the crowds at Jesus’ crucifixion.
We need to break apart from this collective coma and reconnect with ourselves, our communities, and our God.
Wild Remnant is a journey of breaking apart from the collective coma. This journey is about detaching from our compulsiveness and our attachment to ourselves and to the false gods we have created to find who we are in the created order and how freeing it is to follow true and living God walking with the Holy Spirit.
